Good People

I'll be starting prep on a new film called "Good People" on the 15th May.

The film is a thriller set in London starring James FrancoKate Hudson andOmar Sy. It's being directed by Henrik Genz and the DoP is Jørgen Johansson. They're a great team who've shot The KillingThe Bridge andTerribly Happy. Dubbed as the Danish Coen Brothers, working with these guys and teaming up again with the producers of Diana with a cast like this sets it up to be a great experience.

I'm going on as B camera operator and Steadicam operator.

Skins: Rise

I've been up in Manchester shooting one of the three Skins Redux episodes - essentially each one a film revisiting one of the original characters from the early days of Skins, but in a long form context and shot on Alexa in a feature film style. Our story featured Jack O'Connell.

Sam Care was DoP and I was on B camera and Steadicam on the main unit, and 2nd Unit DoP the rest of the time.We had a crane step-off with the Steadicam, plenty of toys from Bickers and adrenaline days being strapped to the front bumper of their big Dodge truck whilst chasing a car through a forest in the snow at night! We had a couple of warmer days with a Libra gyro-stabilised head mounted to a post rig on top of the truck, too. Great fun.

Naomi Watts talks about "Diana"

More news and interviews are starting to trickle out about the film, "Diana", that i shot recently. Here's an interview with Naomi Watts in the Mail on Sunday magazine - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/you/article-2250562/Naomi-Watts-Star-opens-Jane-Gordon-playing-Princess-Wales.html

Volume wins at BIFA and gets selected for Sundance!!!

Volume, the short film I shot with the graduates of NFTS last year (Mahalia Belo, Casey Herbert and Chloe Thompson) has just won Best Short Film at the British Independent Film Awards. It has also been selected for the short film category for next year's Sundance Film Festival out of a record 8,102 entries! What a day for Volume and it's crew!

Diana wrapped

We've finished all the photography on Diana with Naomi Watts, now. There was a 6 week break or so after Naveen Andrews broke his Achilles tendon in the middle of a shot...! We were walking backwards uphill in mid Steadicam shot when it went. After a trip back to the US for surgery, he came back and we were able to finish it off.

Working with Oliver Hirschbiegel and Reine Klausmann of the "Downfall" fame was extremely exciting and a real honour for me being such a fan of that film. Reine also shot "The Baader Meinhoff Complex"; another of my favourites.

Looking forward to seeing the results. Naomi does a fantastic job as Princess Diana.

The Quiet Ones - sneak peak

Hammer films have just posted a behind the scenes look at the making of The Quiet Ones.

There's a section showing Steadicam towards the end.

Starring Jared Harris and Sam Claflin it looks set to be a good, traditional ghost story set in the UK in the 70s and following the success of The Woman in Black, should be released in cinemas in 2013.
